Education Desired :
Bachelors or Masters in a Physical Science Major with emphasis in Scientific Computing
Essential Job Functions :
Develop and use simulation tools for one or more of quantum state evolution, electronic structure calculation, and quantum transport modeling. Participate in the development of physical models and appropriate numerical simulations of materials and devices for quantum information science applications. Construct and analyze effective Hamiltonian models of electron-spin-based qubit systems. Effectively present ideas and results in technical presentations, write research reports, and collaborate and communicate with team members.
Experience and Knowledge Desired :
Design and development of scientific software for the modeling and simulation of physical systems. Application scientific software to problems of scientific and technological interest. Expertise in the techniques of scientific computing including algorithm implementation, numerical precision and error control, and deployment on both high-performance workstations and clustered workstation systems. Experience working in close collaboration with experimental materials and device development groups.
Essential Physical/Mental Requirements :
Ability to spend extended periods of time at a computer monitor. Excellent problem solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced heterogeneous team environment.
