About Us

WVU Medicine Uniontown Hospital is a compassionate, dedicated community hospital providing a full range of medical care to residents of Fayette County and the surrounding areas for more than a century. Health care services provided at our acute and specialty care hospital include an award-winning Cardiology Department and catheterization lab, an award-winning Stroke Center and a state-of-the-art Wound Healing Center.

Community Engagement

Partnering to Make a Healthy Difference


Uniontown Hospital is proud to partner with local and national organizations dedicated to making a healthy difference in the community. 

Through our Community Relations Department and the Special Events Engagement Team, we engage with multiple groups to help support numerous area residents.

Our engagements include: 

  • American Heart Association annual Heart Ball, which includes corporate sponsorship, fundraising efforts and participation, as well as the annual Fayette County Heart Story of the Year presented by Uniontown Hospital. 

  • The American Cancer Society and the annual Relay for Life through organizational sponsorship, fundraising and participation. 

  • The Storey Square Summer Concert Series that Uniontown Hospital acts as the primary sponsor for annually and coordinates all concert events and activities. For more details on this annual series of events, click here

  • The Healthy Lifestyle Task Force Wednesday Walks, which we support by providing water for the weekly walking tours each summer.

  • Uniontown City Mission where we annually collect and provide school supplies and Christmas gifts for children.

  • Fayette County Children and Youth Services for which we annually provide bookbags, as well as winter hats and gloves.

  • Fayette County Domestic Violence for which we annually provide backpacks and winter hats and gloves.

  • The Uniontown City Police which includes an annual donation of bookbags. 

  • Food drives and food supplies for several organizations annually, including St. Vincent DePaul, the City Mission, Salvation Army and the Food Bank. 

  • And many more financial sponsorships and local engagements of groups focused on providing for the needs of Fayette County.

Located in the scenic Laurel Highlands, this 145-bed facility has been a staple in the Fayette County area since 1902. Our facility provides local residents with emergency, medical/surgical and complete diagnostic services.

Our dedication to providing world class care to our community can be seen from our award-winning Cardiology Department and catheterization lab, Joint Commission Gold Plus Certified Primary Stroke Center, state-of-the-art Wound Healing Center, Emergency Department that cares for approximately 50,000 patients yearly as well as nearly 30 other medical specialties
