Transitional Family Services (TFS), a subsidiary of Pathways, began providing services to Georgia's children in 1993 and today offers a range community mental health services. TFS contracts with multiple insurance companies to provide a full continuum of counseling services for children, adolescents and adults with a mental illness or substance related disorder to include Individual and Family Therapy, Intensive Family Intervention (IFI), Psychiatric Diagnostic Evaluation and Medication Management.


Summary
Under immediate supervision of the Office Manager and/or Regional Director, the Office Assistant II provides a broad range of office support to the program staff and management while complying with HIPAA that include but are not limited to answering and directing phone calls, greeting and checking in clients and visitors, verifying health insurance coverage, scheduling appointments for multiple staff, taking mental health referrals, handling faxes and mail, communicating with vendors and stakeholders, and using Microsoft Office with all aspects of the position.Other areas of responsibility include maintenance and cleanliness of common areas, and special projects as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Insurance verification
Answering phones
Scheduling multiple clients for multiple staff
Greeting in person clients
Outlook and EMR experience
Excel experience to do tracking and logging
Taking mental health referrals
Medical record uploading and requests fulfillment
Communicating with outside vendors and agencies
Required education and/or experience
  • One-year work experience in an medical office setting answering phones, taking referrals, scheduling appointments and providing general clerical support
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Intermediate level PC skills required
