Description
The Consultant, Strategy & Analysis develops and manages line of business specific analytics and strategic initiatives to achieve sustained profitable growth in the large line of business within Kaiser Permanente's Georgia region. This position applies rigorous analytics, economic insight and market intelligence to synthesize the macro environment to inform the development of strategically-aligned tactics across multiple segments within the large line of business. He or she works closely with the Director, Large Line of Business in identifying and implementing evidenced-based price, product, promotion, and distribution strategies and tactics to meet and exceed membership and profitability targets. The Consultant collaborates with other functional areas within the region, and in Program Office, to ensure alignment of analytics and resources.
Essential Functions:
* Develops and maintains large line of business database to track membership trends, rate position, margin, competitive positioning, and product performance. Provides data interpretation and hypothesis generation and testing. Designs models and gathers inputs from multiple internal and external sources.
* In conjunction with the Marketing Analyst, the CSA gathers and analyzes information on industry trends and competitive activities to inform strategies and tactics.
* Utilizes line of business analytics and business intelligence to identify innovative marketing tactics. Develops business cases to demonstrate evidence-base ROI for investing in tactics.
* Tracks and reports on the tactical execution of strategic initiatives across functional areas, including Account Management, Sales Pricing and Underwriting. Manages strategic initiatives from conception phase through execution with a heavy reliance on lead and lag measures.
* In conjunction with Director, Large Line of Business, the CSA develops line of business and segment specific business plans. Ensures the plan is data-driven and aligned with the priorities of the functional areas that support the execution of the plan.
* In conjunction with Sales and Account Management, the CSA informs sales strategies and participates in their execution and monitoring of performance to meet segment-specific growth goals.
* With Pricing and Underwriting, the CSA helps to determine line of business rate position to meet segment-specific growth goals.
the CSA monitors competitive landscape and works with Product Development and Management to ensure that new and existing products and services meet marketplace needs.
* With Marketing Communications, the CSA applies marketing analytics to shape key messages for effectively reaching specific segments. Identifies credible ways to measure the effectiveness of Marketing Communications efforts
* In conjunction with Director, Large Line of Business, lead line of business. strategy team comprised of senior leaders from multiple functional areas across the organization to identify business problems and growth opportunities, and develop evidence-based strategies and tactics.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree
* Minimum of 4-7 years of relevant experience and demonstrated strong performance in the following areas:
* Data analytic skills and database development
* Experience developing, managing and implementing, segment-specific marketing programs
* Proven capability to execute on large, complex projects and programs
* Ability to work with all levels of a highly matrixed organization to influence decision makers and obtain 'buy in'. Strong collaboration and teaming skills a must
* Product development, marketing management and complex project management
* Strong communication/interpersonal skills
* Facilitation/team coordination
* Program and project management
* Organization/planning skills

Preferred Qualifications

* Master's degree in business administration, marketing, public health or related field
* Knowledge of managed care and health insurance, managed care products, regulations and features
* Experience in a managed care organization, health system, other health care related field or consulting
* Strong market orientation
* Market research
* Developing, implementing or managing managed care products
